Aluminum Can Collection
Helping the Club and the Environment
Several recent trips to the aluminum can salvage facility have generated $150. The hundreds of dollars received for cans collected at the club have made considerable contributions to the various programs over the years. Glenn McAndless has donated his time and mileage to take the cans to the recycler. Thank you Glenn. In addition to money for cart paths and paint for the clubhouse in years past, the recycling money has been used toward the cost of the deck added at the first tee, for gravel to fill the muddy areas in front of the cart barns, and most recently for large amounts of mulch for the newly planted trees. Keep those cans coming folks. Bring them from home and use the containers marked for aluminum cans only in the clubhouse and in each cart barn. This year two additional containers have been placed on the 4th tee and on the 8th tee. Please place cans in them and not in the wire baskets that are for trash.
Thanks for your help, and a special thanks to Leroy Allen for the large number of cans he collected and for crushing them before bringing them.
It really happened
As many of you know, Warren Herchenroeder is always trying to get birdies. Well in mid April he came close on #5 when he hit the Martin House. But, apparently all of the birds survived. Why is it Warren is always involved in these strange stories?
