LADIES' LEAGUE PLANNING MEETING
The Ladies’ League will hold an organizational meeting at the club house on Thursday March 1st at 5:00 P. M. This is the meeting where the plans for the League for this season are determined. League play policies and procedures are determined by the League participants, not by the Club management. If you would like to see things done any differently, this is the meeting where you need to make your feelings known. Please, if you are interested in playing in the ladies’ league, attend this important meeting. Or, if you are not familiar with League play, come to the meeting just to see what it is all about.
MEN'S LEAGUE
Planned start date will be Tuesday April 3rd at 4:00 PM
The “unofficial Mens’ League” continues to play at 2:00 PM weather permitting (which hasn’t been often lately)

SURVEY FEEDBACK
Range Planning Committee and the Board of Directors wish to thank everyone for their responses to the Member Opinion Survey. Over 70 responses, representing 40% of potential respondents, returned a survey. That is a very encouraging response. The LRP committee and the Board have gained valuable insights to the desires of our members. We are all working hard to address as many of the issues raised as soon as possible.
There will be, and already are, visible signs of the use of this feedback to better the operation and our golf course. Among the many issues identified in the Opinion Survey were many comments about planting trees, and following rules. The Board has taken the following actions:
TREES
Early in the year the board had discussed the possibility of planting more trees around the course in the fall when they would stand a good chance of surviving and growing. The feedback on the survey reminded us that many of you wanted to see this tree planting happen.
So in October the board approved the purchase and planting of 15 trees at a cost of a little over $30 per tree. Some of you who play in the winter season have already noticed these new trees. They are a type of pear tree which is both fast growing and very attractive. By five years in the future, those that survive will have grown dramatically.
At the January Board meeting the planting effort was discussed. It was felt that the 15 trees are a good start, but upon observing the new trees, it was felt that it would be great if more could be planted in the early spring. It was felt that the 2001 budget might not be able to support additional tree planting. As a result of that discussion, several people at that meeting donated $30 each for trees to be planted in the spring.
Thank you to:
Bill Barns
Don Gilmore Gerald Hannaford Lynn Jones
Bob Maytyska
Joe Nash
For $180 to plant 6 additional trees in the spring.
Would you also like to donate $30 for a tree to help beautify our golf course?
If so, just mail or take your donation to the club by the end of March and we will plant one tree for each $30 donation.
RULES
The survey clearly indicated dissatisfaction with enforcement of club rules regarding the 5 player limit and starting play on Tee #1.
In response, the Board of Directors wants to inform all that our club rules must be strictly followed and enforced in 2001 and beyond. Especially:
-- No more than 5 players on a hole.
-- Sign in at the Club House and start play on #1, unless another starting hole is specifically approved by the pro shop attendant.
As we grow it is more and more important that we follow club rules. Any member should feel free to report rule infractions to the pro shop attendant.
The rules are posted in the Club House. Please review them next time you are there.
LONG RANGE PLANNING REPORT
The full LRP report is a 50 page report to the Board which contains a lot of details that probably are not of interest to most of you. However, if any of you would like to review the report, just ask any board member to loan you his copy. You are most welcome to read and return the report.
