New Ladies Tees
If you have been on the course in the past few weeks, you probably noticed the mounds of fresh dirt which Alan is gradually turning into new tee boxes for the ladies. New tee boxes are being constructed at holes # 3, 5, and 6. An existing tee box is being used on #8. The lady golfers seem to be quite pleased with this improvement. They are currently teeing from the fairways near to where the new tee boxes are being constructed, and are anxiously waiting for the new tees to be ready to use.

Ladies’ League contribution
We want to thank the Ladies’ League for their offer to purchase a used commercial dishwasher for the club kitchen. This type of dishwasher is a requirement before the club can consider offering any kind of food service. Thank you Ladies!!

Shares for sale
There are 12 shares of Theodosia Country Club, LLC for sale at this time. If you are interested in purchasing shares in the club, please let any board member know and we will put you in touch with the share owners wishing to sell.

Soar with the Eagles Again
During League on Tuesday June 5th, Don Rackley of the Beard/Rackley team holed a 120 yard approach shot for an eagle on #2. A couple of us thought we saw the ball disappear into the hole. When we got to the green, it was confirmed. Another eagle from our golfers.
Needless to say, Don was thrilled, and the rest of us shared in his excitement. Congratulations Don!!

Garage Sale Update
Several items which were not sold on sale date have since been sold. These additional sales plus cash donations brought our total to over $900 for this fund raiser. This money has been applied to the expenses associated with building the new ladies tees. Thanks again to all who contributed, purchased items, and worked at the sale.

The War Games Many of you are aware that a golfing challenge was recently made between the Army/Air Force and the Navy/Marines. Ahrnsbrak and Herchenroeder reported the results:

Here is the Ahrnsbrak version:
Navy victory
Corporal “Queball” Herchenroeder arranged for old Army retirees and veterans to challenge old Navy retirees and veterans for a round of golf at the club. Today, May 31st, the Army team lost by 50 strokes to the Navy team. The three special events were won by Navy team members. Closest to the pin on #4 and on #8 was obtained by Bill “I’s Popeye the sailor man” Barnes and closest second shot on #6 was won by Glen “Brutis” McAndless . A good time was had by all, especially the Navy team.

Here is the Herchenroeder version:
6 against 7, Army beat by 50 strokes.
The pyretic victory by Navy on May 31st will not go unpunished. Army recruits are scouring the countryside for hired guns.
“I shall return” MacArthur and Stillwell.

The tournament Committee needs your help
Organizing tournaments for our club entails a lot of work. There are schedules to develop each year, flyers to publish and mail, advertisement and promotion to do, sponsors to find, and the actual running of the tournaments. If you would be willing to help with the tournaments, please contact Don Gilmore at 273-4167.
