Management Changes

Club Manager Jerry Martin has submitted a letter to the board that he will not be back for the 2002 season. Jerry has served in this position for the past 10 years. Thank you Jerry for all of the years of dedicated service to our Club.

Board Members Gerald Hannaford and Lynn Jones have submitted resignations, both for personal reasons. Board Member Don Gilmore is moving from the area and will not be able to fill out the balance of his term. Thank you Gerald, Lynn, and Don We sincerely appreciate the hard work that all of you have contributed in behalf of our Club.

New Board Members:

The Board has appointed Ethel Matyska and Glen McAndless to fill the balance of Gerald Hannaford and Lynn Jones’ terms. Since Don Gilmore will be available for a while yet, the board had not made a decision if it is necessary to fill the balance of his term. Please welcome and congratulate Ethel and Glen in their new positions as part of the Management Committee.

Jobs available

As a result of Jerry Martin leaving his position as Club Manager, we will be looking for one or two part time employees to join Barb Chaney next year in the Pro Shop. Contact Ron Beard for more information regarding the jobs or to submit an application.

Firewood available

You may have noticed a large unhealthy looking tree in the valley on #1. Bill Barnes has graciously offered to help Alan take the tree down and make it available for firewood at $35 a rick to benefit the Club.
Thanks Bill! To purchase firewood contact Bill Barnes or Alan Mahon.

New Senior Tee Blocks

A petition was posted on the bulletin board at the club house to provide senior tee blocks for those men 70 and older. It was proposed that these blocks be placed at the front of the current tees with the regular tees being at the back. The partition was signed by 21 of our regular players.
The Board concurred with this request. The Senior Tee Blocks will be in place by the start of the next golfing season.

Club Policies

The board is in the process of reviewing Club rules and policies . If you have any input regarding club policies, please give it to any board member for consideration during the review process. Or you can send an email to the club email address.

Member/Guest Day results

30 players, including 11 guests participated in the event held on Sunday Oct. 7th. We are pleased to report 2 new family memberships and 2 junior memberships as a result of this event. Please welcome new members:
Jack and Rose Mary Sullivan
Phil and June St. Laurent
Zack Johnson
Heath Maddox
Thank you to Jackie and Gaines Hoff, Dave and Lanie Smiley, and Helen Beard, for planning and running this event. And thank you to all of you who brought guests and those who helped to take the guests around the course.

Hole #3 has continued to be assaulted.

During a practice round before Men’s League on Tuesday September 18th, David Stevens holed out his second shot for an eagle on #3. He said it wasn’t pretty, but it scores as a 2 on the card.
This wasn’t an eagle, but deserves mention. On the second day of play in the Club Championship Tournament, Ed Duffin was making his approach to #3 from about 70 yards out when his ball flew directly into the cup.

Board Meeting time

Starting in November the Board Meetings will switch to 5:00 PM. Board Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month.
