Cart Path Volunteers are back at work

The cart path volunteers are at it again. When you are at the course you will notice that additional concrete cart paths are being poured this fall. We all appreciate and thank the volunteer work of all of you who show up to help with the cart path work. Thanks to the Cart Path Fund Committee and all of you who supported their fund raising work, we will be able to purchase 5 truck loads of concrete this fall. This will add approximately 600 feet of concrete cart paths to our course.

Club Championship
Congratulations to Jeremy Thomas for his victory in the Club Championship Tournament. It was a close contest, with Jerry Wallace finishing second in a close bid to overtake Jeremy. Jake Thomas finished in third. Does this tell us the importance of youth, what some of us older golfers have sometimes enviously referred to as the “flat bellies”?

Hole in One
Congratulations to Glenna Hodges for scoring a hole in one on # 8 on September 25th. That is impressive Glenna. Seems like we were just recently writing about Glenna making an eagle on #6.
You guys had better get busy. The ladies are really showing us up this year.

New Board Member - Jim Henderson
Vice President, Jerry Premer, has submitted his resignation from the board due to his new job responsibilities. Thank you Jerry for your past work on the board. The board has appointed Jim Henderson to fill this board position for the balance of the year. We welcome Jim to the board. Thank you for being willing to serve.
Board member Bill Trivitt has assumed the Vice President position. Congratulations Bill on your new office.

Thank You: Pro Shop Workers
We owe a big thank you to Bob Matyska for being the Club Manager this year. Bob had a lot to learn about the business of the club in his first year as our Club Manager. With his hard work and persistence Bob made this transition go very smoothly. Bob we thank you!
And thank you to the Pro Shop Attendants Barb Chaney, Ethel Matyska, and Warren Herchenroeder, who all did an outstanding job this year behind the counter at the Pro Shop. These people have all worked very hard for the Club this year and we thank them.

Thank You: Course Superintendent
This has been a very challenging year for our Course Superintendent Alan Mahon. As all of you who have been cutting your lawns this summer know that the grass has grown relentlessly, requiring much more attention than usual. This, along with several breakdowns of our aging equipment, has offered Alan special difficulty this year. Alan we thank you for “hanging in there”. The course is beautiful.

Thank you: everyone
We know there are many of you who have done things for our club that have not received recognition in the newsletter. We appreciate all of our members. Just talking up our club with your friends is a great help to the organization. For being good members and to all of you who have pitched in to help in so many ways, we thank you sincerely.
