Club House Closes Nov. 1st
The club house/pro shop closes for the season on Tuesday, November 1st. As usual the course remains open to play during the off season, weather permitting. And the weather has to be pretty bad to keep some of our dedicated golfers off of the course.
.
Visitors will pay green fees using envelopes at the door by tee #1. Off season rates are $10 for 9 and $15 for 18 holes. Exact change or check will be needed.. The club house will re-open for the 2006 season on March 1, 2006.

The contract was awarded and work was completed in September. Take a look next time you are at the course. It looks very nice. Unfortunately for the Club’s finances, many of the support joists under the decking also had to be replaced, resulting in approximately $3,000 of unexpected expense. Seems like every time we think we are getting our heads above water another expense comes along.

Hole in 1
During the month of September Doreen Cronce scored a hole in 1 on # 8. She and Miles often play early in the morning. That must have made her day. Congratulations
Driving Range Lynn and Judy Jones wanted us to let you all know that the building of their
new home will not mark the end of the driving range. There is plenty of room for the new home without impacting the driving range.
Thank You
Aeration of the Greens
Matt Shockey, our Course Superintendent, wants to thank the following helpers. Without their help the aeration of the greens would have taken 3 days. These volunteers did it in one day

Landscaping
Thank you to Jackie and Gaines Hoff, Dave and Lanie Smiley, Warren Herchenroeder, and Lynn Jones for the landscaping at the club house entrance. The area where the deck used to be was looking a bit lonely. This team has improved the looks of that area greatly.
Ceiling
Thank you Ron Capetty for spray painting over the stain spots in the ceiling of the meeting room. It looks much better.
Tables
Thank you Ladie’s League for donating 6 new tables for the meeting room. These will come in very handy for the upcoming Follies.
Tournaments
Thank you Bob Matyska, Frank Hirschman, and Bob Allison for a very successful tournament season. You guys did a great job!
Club Championship winners
It was a struggle, but a non-Thomas family member has won the Club Championship, for the first time in several years. But, as you can see from the list of winners, Jerry Wallace was surrounded by the Thomas family.
Congratulations to Jerry and the rest of the winners!

Great Support !
The level of volunteerism and financial contributions at Theodosia Country Club is very impressive indeed. It makes this newsletter editor very proud to be a part of Theodosia Country Club. The support for our fund raising events over the years has been terrific. And there are so many members who continually volunteer their time and efforts. This is a testimony to the prevalent desire for this beautiful golf course to survive, prosper, and continue to provide the area with a quality recreation experience.
. As the area grows the club should grow with it, and additional members should help put the club on a more secure financial footing. In the mean time, most of you know that the club has just been squeaking by financially for several years. So this generosity of the members has been the sustaining force for the club as it runs very close to the line financially.
We can’t say enough about how much all of your efforts have been appreciated. When we offer thank you and acknowledgments in this newsletter, there is always a danger of leaving someone out and unintentionally hurting someone’s feelings. If we have missed recognizing things you have done, please forgive us. Let this editor know and we will be sure to recognize your efforts in our upcoming newsletters.
Gratefully,
Your newsletter editor
Ron Beard
